Our Takeaways from GDC 2025

From motion-tracking games to Waymo rides through San Francisco, GDC 2025 delivered. We caught the latest trends and left with fresh ideas.
Last month, we attended the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, one of the largest and most influential gatherings in the global gaming industry. With more than 28,000 attendees, countless sessions, and an impressive lineup of exhibitors, GDC continues to be the place where the future of games takes shape.
What’s hot in 2025? Artificial intelligence was a major theme throughout the event. From narrative design and real-time localization to procedural content generation, AI featured heavily across the board. One particularly exciting trend was the rise of full-body motion tracking in mobile and VR games, allowing real-world movement to be instantly reflected on screen. It felt both innovative and within reach for many developers.
While trends are important, GDC is also about building relationships. We had the chance to meet with both new and existing partners, including Bemobi and Plug In Digital. These conversations helped us explore new distribution opportunities and better understand how different companies are tackling challenges in monetization, catalog expansion, and market access.
Outside the conference, we made sure to enjoy a bit of the city. We took the cable car, admired the Golden Gate Bridge, and even tried Waymo, San Francisco’s self-driving ride service.
Let’s just say it was the smoothest meeting we ever had, and no one had to take the wheel.
